The Fulbright Alumni Program for Pakistani grantees is administered by USEFP. Alumni are entitled to a variety of post-grant opportunities to engage in activities as part of giving back to Pakistan.

Fulbright Alumni Grants for Academic Activities

The grant funds academic activities (workshops, seminars, conferences, and training sessions in Pakistan only) initiated by Fulbright alumni in their academic disciplines or area of specialization/expertise. The aim of the grant is to support educational activities in all academic disciplines across Pakistan.

The maximum funding available is USD 2,000 (equivalent in local currency at the prevailing exchange rate). All Pakistani Fulbright alumni (Master's, Ph.D., FLTA, Scholar (Post-Doctoral Research), or Pre-Doctoral Research) are eligible to apply for these grants. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.

Giving back with USEFP

Fulbright alumni form an integral link to USEFP’s national educational outreach program, and its selection process for future Fulbright grantees.

Educational Outreach

Each year USEFP reaches hundreds of thousands of students across Pakistan, visiting all provinces, major cities, and far flung areas with its scholarship opportunities, GRE test prep classes, testing services, and free educational advising services. Fulbright alumni are given opportunities to join these outreaches to speak with young aspiring students to help them on their educational journeys by sharing their Fulbright knowledge, professional experience, and personal stories.

Teaching GRE Prep Classes

USEFP reaches out to its Fulbright alumni twice annually to recruit teachers for its GRE prep classes. Fulbright alumni score among the top GRE test taking percentile in Pakistan each year, so they make ideal teachers for students aspiring to do the same.

Fulbright Scholarship Grantee Selections

USEFP’s Fulbright Grantee selection process requires Fulbright alumni to provide an integral service in selecting the next batch of Pakistani grantees. Fulbright alumni participate in reviewing all scholarship applications received from across the country and conducting the final selection interviews of short-listed candidates. USEFP invites Fulbright alumni to volunteer for these services annually, and on average engages over 80 alumni from across Pakistan to review approximately three thousand five hundred scholarship applications, and to conduct over four hundred interviews.

Fulbright Heroes

The Fulbright Heroes program recognizes Pakistani Fulbright alumni for their immense contributions to society upon their return to Pakistan. These alumni are recognized for their achievements through the Heroes program, which captures their stories on film. The Fulbright Heroes series was started in 2016 and a new season is released annually.

Fulbright Heroes is released to audiences online, and is showcased across Pakistan at USEFP outreaches, events, promotions, and donor meetings.
